As a currently enrolled Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major please be assured that we will continue to make your educational experiences during your time at Mississippi State University challenging and rewarding. The faculty and staff of the department are not only willing but anxious to assist you in providing information and counsel regarding the opportunities in biochemistry and molecular biology. You hopefully are already acquainted with your advisor, and we hope you will spend time with them, or the undergraduate coordinator (Dr. Ken Willeford), or graduate coordinator (Dr. Din-Pow Ma), or the Department Head (Dr. Scott Willard), discussing and planning your education and future career goals. In fact, all of the faculty are available to you to discuss specific areas of interest and you should not hesitate to approach any one of them regarding any issues, problems or questions you may have. Since the faculty have varied educational backgrounds and research interests, we would suggest that you get acquainted with each faculty member and spend some time discussing mutual areas of interest. This will be an aid to you in formulating plans for your future.
